Scope of work:
Remodel a small third floor bathroom to maximize space and openness. Insulate exterior wall. Replace old plumbing as accessed.

Challenges:
Protecting pristine condition of the lovingly restored rest of house during construction.
Stealing space from old unused and profligate chases and stairways.
Knowing when to stop demolition.

Solution:
A compact yet functional full bath with lots of light, openness, and storage. Total demo and rebuild as we please. The shower without enclosure allows plenty of shoulder and elbow room with the curtain pulled back and retained on hooks. New technology membranes under the shower allow for minimal floor thickness. The vanity was fitted into a thickened wall that once housed stairs up to the room next to the bathroom. The back of the vanity had to be modified to accommodate old structure. See more photos here.
